Urban design is the organization of public spaces, infrastructure and natural systems into a shared framework that guides the growth of a region, city, neighborhood, and/or corridor. As elaborated into masterplans, zoning codes, and other public policies and standards, the urban design framework connects public spaces and regulates the form and use of privately-owned land and buildings.
